The Power of Numbers Stew Shearer

Editorial Excerpt:"It just seemed, reading through the EGM article, that without a score to worry about, the reviewers could be much more candid about the game. There was less talk visibly influenced by hype, or overbearing developers, and more discussion that sounded just like a group of gamers sitting down and talking about a game they had played over lunch."

Atlus Finds Success Michael "Macstorm" Cunningham

Editorial Excerpt: "Along with publishing titles, Success is also a game developer that has been around since their 1989 side-scrolling shooter Cotton was released in arcades. Even though the company has been around in Japan for nearly twenty years, many gamers in North America have never heard of them. I'm here to fix that. "

From the Editor's Desk

An eventful week for me. Firstly, Metal Gear Solid 4 was released and I have since beaten it and concluded that it is indeed the finest non-RPG game I have ever played. The gameplay, the storyline, everything about it is near perfect. I say near perfect, because nothing is flawless, but it comes pretty close. Secondly, my wonderful $1400 Toshiba laptop died after a mere two years and I have since replaced it with a much nicer and affordable model that I think will do better. I'm not happy about the debt, but hey I need a computer to work.

Editorial wise, we are again running low. As such I have decided that I will go on a hunger strike until more editorials start coming in. So just think about that the next time you have an interesting opinion about gaming you could write about, and then chooose not to. How's it feel knowing I'm wasting away here... Who am I kidding? I'm going to get an ice cream sandwich. That said, we have an ed from myself concerning over the top review scores and another from Macstorm discussing the barely known partnership between Atlus and Success. Enjoy and submit! I emphasize the latter part.
