XSEED – The Little Train that Could Sam Marchello

Editorial Excerpt:

"Unfortunately, the Wild ARMs series was never able to capture my interest, while Shadow Hearts: From the New World was impossible to find in any of my games stores. I was someone who never paid attention to who published the game, and often supported publishers without actually knowing I was doing it. Since I began working for RPGamer, I've come to learn about how the industry works, and what is most important to publishers."

The Juggernaut Michael Cunningham

Editorial Excerpt:

"Sony has been dishing out mistakes and missteps left and right ever since the PlayStation 3 was announced in 2005. From the outrageous prices to features like backwards compatibility getting cut, those were just a few of the failings that Sony's mammoth Blu-ray monster has had to deal with."

Emperor Gabriel Ang

Editorial Excerpt:

"Trust and wisdom are often the two most difficult things to gain in this world. As one ventures through life, one will meet a lot of people and experience a lot of things that could either contribute to one's growth, or even one's downfall."

Hierophant Gabriel Ang

Editorial Excerpt:

"Everyone has idols. This idol is often the person who has seemingly achieved a certain level of greatness or divinity that we have to come to praise their presence and follow their teachings."

From the Editor's Desk

I'm not sure what it is that blind men find so attractive when it comes to my voice. It's something that I find very strange, yet incredibly flattering. While not the straff hottie (though this is up for debate), I just always find it odd when people compliment me - even if they can't see what I look like. Amazingly enough, this isn't the first time it has happened. I suppose this is what I get for ten years worth of experience working with the disabled, eh?

Despite the insanity that was E3, I managed to put in more game time than I thought I would. I've played mad amounts of Suikoden Tierkreis, and I have to say that I absolutely adore the game. Yes, the battle system is simplistic, but this is the nature of all Suikoden games. The character models don't bother me as much as it does others, but the story is amazing and has given me a few ideas for some future editorials. However, I still have a few half-started editorials and projects for RPGamer that need to be completed so I don't want to keep adding to my plate... though I seem to do that a lot, don't I?

When I haven't been playing Suikoden Tierkreis, I was polishing off Final Fantasy IV DS and playing Yggdra Union which I also think is pretty great. Be on the look out for my special feature - I've been so swamped that it along with the Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume review have been slightly pushed to the sidelines. However, this month I am determined to complete all my outstanding projects related to RPGamer. Determined! Yes!

It's a mixed bag of editorials this week! MeoTwister continues his quest to write an editorial for each of the Major Arcana, while Macstorm discusses Sony and the PlayStation 3's not so humble beginnings, and then I share my optimism over XSEED. Please read and respond, and while you're doing that, I'm off to polish off another book. I love The Dresden Files - so silly!

Your Opinion Matters
Golden Sun DS: Awesome?
E3: Any Surprises?
Sting Games: Too complicated?
