Piracy: No Longer Limited to the Open Seas or Men with Black Eye Patches
by Slapizaga the Bandit
PARTIALLY DUE TO the suffering economy, the War on Terrorism, the War in Iraq, and I'm sure many other minute factors, our sales have suffered, as have most other retail stores in general. But the music/DVD/game industry has a very exploitable flaw: The media on which music, DVD's, and games are written to can be copied by just about anyone with the hardware capable of doing so.

What's Wrong With "The World"
by Kris Schnee
"The ".hack" franchise is a clever new multimedia enterprise tying together
games, books, and anime, and at its center is a bad idea called "The
World." The story of .hack revolves around The World, a fictional online
RPG created in the early 21st century, yet The World's design lags decades
behind real RPGs"
Is It Really That Bad?
by Nick Ferriola
"Now, while I have not particularly enjoyed Final Fantasy 7 or 8, I have played both to completion, and agree that there certainly is something lacking about those two games, but on the other hand, I, who began playing RPGs with the original Dragon Warrior way back in the day, and later the Final Fantasy series, would really rather not see things go back that way. Why? I’ll tell you."
The Greater of Two Evils
by Rumikoholic
"Those people who think that video games are to blame for the world’s ills would do so even if it wasn’t echoed in their ears by the media. Editor's Comments
Welcome to another week of finely-crafted editorials. This week includes four articles, among them a new Featured Reader Award. I congratulate Slapiza for his submission, which factually outlines the real trouble with piracy.
There are also three more editorials, all worth a read. Nick Ferriola and Rumikoholic have written in rebuttals to some of last week's articles, and Kris Schnee gives his opinion on Bandai's unique .hack series. Enjoy!

“Hide not your Talents; they for Use were made. What's a Sundial in the Shade?”
-Benjamin Franklin
For those who have written editorials, I'm sure they can attest, as I can, that writing them is a fun experience. This isn't writing an essay for English class, it's an adrenaline-pumping opinionated experience with so many awards, including personal satisfaction and a huge reader audience. And when it's all over, you'll be wishing for more.
