The Bad Old Days Reborn Mike Moehnke

Editorial Excerpt:

"Recently everyone's favorite staff Red Mage deemed me worthy of receiving a review copy of The Dark Spire. His faith in my ability to complete the game is touching, and I have indeed progressed very deep within its environs."

Square Enix's Next MMO Michael Cunningham

Editorial Excerpt:

"It's no secret that I'm not a strong supporter of MMORPGs among my coworkers here, but it's not because I dislike them or think they are evil. I just know the addictive nature of them having played two over the course of my grad school days. I've also seen too many a staff member here leave us in the dust to save Azeroth or Vana'diel. But having some experience with both of those worlds, it's easy to see the appeal of each."

Since When Did "Complete" Mean "Incomplete?" Robin Crew

Editorial Excerpt:

"I won't lie. Nostalgia hits and it hits hard. Fortunately, or unfortunately as the case may be, its accuracy score is down right awful. Ironically, I had just been explaining to a friend that Crimson Gem Saga appeared to be "the new Lunar" based on its marketing scheme of being generic, old school, but funny. Naturally a few days later I read right here on RPGamer that the latest remake for Lunar 1, now known as Lunar: Harmony of Silver Star is in development."

From the Editor's Desk

I apologize for the delay! My friend from Scotland was here until Wednesday evening, and by the time she left I did not have enough time to put the column together. Between Anime North and traveling all over the city of Toronto for the past few days, I'm incredibly tired. Anime North, however, was an amazing experience and I have many stories and photos to share with everyone, so expect a special feature from me sometime after our E3 coverage. Special thanks to all the readers who did come out and talk to me Friday evening at Nominomichi! You guys made the experience even more fantastic.

With AN over and done, and my house guest now long gone, I've managed to put in some gaming time. I started Persona 4 and I'm not sure how I feel about it yet. Other then that, I haven't really had time to play anything else. I did end up buying two games while I was at the convention: Vanguard Bandits and SMT: Nocturne. I've heard mixed reviews about both titles, but considering how difficult both games are to obtain, I'm pretty happy with my choices. Now to just find more time in the day to game!

I've got three editorials this week, from three fantastic males. JuMeSyn and Macstorm provided me with a bit of a vacation so I owe them one. JuMeSyn discusses his current experience with The Dark Spire, while Macstorm provides us with his thoughts on the new Square Enix MMO. I also recieved a fan submission from Robin Crew that provides commentary on the recent announcement of a new Lunar remake.

There will be no column next week due to E3 coverage. That gives me time to also get my special feature up before the next column. See you guys soon, and don't miss me too much!
