Heroic Archetypes
by Gabriel Putnam
"Separation into a black and white contrast of perfect vs. realistic precludes the possibility of many of the more interesting subtypes of this medium, which would fall somewhere in the gray between boundaries. To aid in this categorization, the rest of this editorial will be concerned with an expansion of Mr. Ang's general concepts and an exploration of some of the more interesting aspects of gray hero matter."
Fleeting Memories
by Phillipe Richer
"...it appears to me that many people are lacking the spark and the desire to truly understand and fully exploit the potential of their games. By constantly seeking to acquire new games and by rushing through those we own, many of us (not all, but certainly many) have forgotten why we play at all: for the experience."
The Foreboding Change in RPGs
by Dragon Flame
"As I know has been discussed before, or at least in private thoughts, we, who have had the opportunity to play RPGs from the beginning, have formed a wider gambit than the newer players. As such we have seen a change, which has been rather unpleasant for us."
Parents and Games: Blaming the Other Guy
by Gabriel Ang
"Politicians and parents have been lobbying in the American congress for laws to control and limit the sale of mature-themed games to the impressionable youth. Many parents nowadays place their blame on companies creating these games, saying it's their fault that the youth of today's getting corrupted. And yet, somehow, they seem to forget that it's their fault too."
Freezing Single Point Spear
by D.K. aka Anarhist
"Lunar Phoenix starts off equating personal failure with piracy. Just because somebody ripped your game and made a 'ROM' of it, your game flopped and you are in financial ruin. If that were true Warcraft 3 would have NEVER made it off the ground as beta versions permeated every single college campus on the planet."

Editor's Comments
The update is a day late, and I apologize for that. Between getting ready for graduate school and battling with a rabid, overflowing toilet, things have been crazy. But, as they say, excuses are like...ah, enough with the mangled clichés. On to the editorials.
This week, we have an extensive work on heroic archetypes from our own Gabriel Putnam, and a look at experiencing games from first-time editorial submitter Phillipe Richer. Those who frequent reviews may be familiar with Phillipe's work. In addition, Dragon Flame has submitted an editorial discussing the direction of games and those who play them, and Gabriel Ang has shared his thoughts on the blame game and video game violence. In the rebuttals department, we have a passionate contribution from Anarhist regarding piracy.
Joseph will be back next week. Keep sending in those editorials!

“What is written without effort is in general read without pleasure.”
-Samuel Johnson
When writing an editorial be sure to make it as best as you can. The writers featured here have put their best efforts into their work. We don't print everything we get, and sometimes writers are asked to revise their work before we post it here in Editorials. Sometimes, when expressing an opinion, it's easy to launch into a tirade instead of remaining focused. Carefully read over your work, checking for errors and making sure that you are expressing yourself clearly.
