From the Editor's Desk

School is almost complete! Whoo! I finally finished writing my entire Honours Thesis on Japanese Science Fiction and next week I will finally get to submit my project. It was a good run, but I don't think I'll ever attempt a project of this magnitude again unless I'm drunk. I still have one more essay to complete, but it's close to being done. By next update, I shall have completed my undergraduate studies. Awesome? I think so!

I actually have managed to get some gaming time in here and there despite my projects. I have roughly five hours left to complete in Shadow Hearts: Covenant, and I'm roughly ten hours into Suikoden: Tierkreis. I also started Final Fantasy II and I'm finding it very overwhelming, but I'm doing my best. Still debating on how I want to build my party. Hopefully, I will complete the game before my friend from Scotland arrives!

This week I have two staff editorials. JuMeSyn poses a fantastic question about evil empires and why they seem to be a reoccurring theme in JRPGs. How many RPGs can you guys come up with that do not star an evil empire? Our second piece comes from our Man in Japan! Gaijin reminisces about his introduction to the SaGa series.

Happy Wednesday! And almost-no-more-school for me!
