You lose the toss, and this is what you get. Oh well, she needed the sleep anyway, so I let her off after a while, and she's soundly asleep above me...
Um, yeah, that's right. She's sleeping in the top bunk maybe a metre away from me and I'm sitting at her computer, typing. As Cheshire Catalyst said, I touched down in LA yesterday, but what he didn't mention is that I then did a direct flight to Deleware at 7am in the morning, and well, I'm where Raincrystal is and finally meeting each other for the first time was an... odd experience. Certainly fun though, if a bit exhausting.
In any case, she's tired from consecutive nights of lack of sleep, I'm jetlagged, but since she won the toss, so she got to call the shots, and in this case she's making me do it, not that I ever mind of course. I should also note that I've met other editorial writers (Jenova for one), so it's been really fun for the first two days of my trip so far.
It's surprising though at just how much discussion you can get when there's the two of us hacking at an editorial, and just what you can talk about when you have three editorialists in a room at the same time. It's certainly an experience I won't forget anytime soon. I can vouch on that. ^^
Since I'll be running around the country (literally) I'll be entrusting editorial duties to Raincrystal next week, and the week after by another staff member. I'll pop around for some service messages, but they'll be your caretakers. And yup, this is the secret event I was preparing for. I'm feeling happy that I'm... well, here! ^^
Well, with the big E3 just around the corner, what do you think will be the big event that will rock the RPG world? Who do you think will come out the big winners, who do you think will be weakened by the announcements planned for E3? Who has the most to gain, who has the most to lose? We'd be quite interested as to see what the readers would expect and want for one of the big events of the Gaming Calandar, which is about two weeks away.
Anyway, we have here an editorial concerning how Midgar could be seen as an indication of what is to come, an idea concerning the developments of games through time, and a comment on character renaming. There is also a very well written and fully referenced article concerning violence and video games. Although it's nice for you to be able to reference like that, it's not a necessity, so don't feel daunted.
Now it's time for me to drag myself to sleep, but there is one reminder. Remember that sending to editor@rpgamer.com is a necessity, since the mail will be redirected to the appropiate people. In any case, have fun reading and writing, and be nice to Raincrystal and our guest E3 Editorials updater, even though I'm on holiday. See you around... and I might even run into you!
Just a thought
PS: Oh and for the record, we're both just good friends. I don't have any sort of tendancies a la April Fools day, and neither does she. Just so you know.
