Editor's Comments: I'm here discussing the year of the tactical RPG. That year is this year, but are you up to the challenge?

Editor's Comments: Jason brings us part two of his continuing series on narrative in RPGs. Let's see what he has to say this time.

Editor's Comments: Jeffrey takes his turn battling the ATB system and anything like it. This multi-part series looks to be something highly debatable.

Editor's Comments: Putting his issues with the Virtual Console aside, Bryan discusses why he is pleased with this service. Should we all share his optimism?

Editor's Words

This week seemed to start out slow, but staff came through for me and we have a full column. Having Jeffrey jump over to staff has cut my reader submissions in half, but at least it will still help us out here. I can't recall if I owe Jeffrey a cookie or not, but I'm going to toss him one anyway. I always miss having reader submissions, because they let me know that you are actually coming here and reading up on things. I haven't heard back from anyone about changes that they would like to see made, so I guess we will just keep things as they are for the time being.

I start us off this week with a quick rundown of the tactical RPGs that will be gracing our systems this year. It seems like a flood not seen since the times of Noah. Jason brings us part two of his three part series on narrative in RPGs. This week he discusses dialogue and how some games just butcher it. Jeffrey jumps from reader to staff this week as he has joined our news team, but news couldn't keep him from sharing his thoughts on turn-based combat and his love for it. If you enjoy his topic this week, just wait for the next part. Bryan returns today with his thoughts on the Virtual Console. He knows that it is not perfect, but it sure is the best thing out there right now to him. How do you feel?

Well, this Monday update sure was easy like Sunday morning. I just want everyone to know that the editor@rpgamer.com inbox is just dying for your submissions. There is nothing that would please it more than to have your editorial inside of it. Umm... I'm not sure if that sounded as well as it did in my head, but just ignore the innuendo and start writing. Please for just an editorial a week, you can feed one starving email account. I hereby throw down this challenge. I would like to see everyone that can write one rebuttal to any editorial written this year. If I receive four reader editorials by Friday of this week, I will have a quick judging of them and the winner will win something. I'm not sure what I have to offer, it may just be a recipe for cookies, but that's more than you would get otherwise. If you have any questions, please contact me at the editor@ account. As always, make sure to put Editorials somewhere in the subject header or else you may forever be lost in the spam box.
