I swear, I always seem to have interesting experiences when I least expect it. Story of the week: After my Japanese History exam last Saturday there was a guy dressed up as Neku from The World Ends With You. He was waiting outside the lecture hall I was in, and I had to do a double take when I saw him. I guess any day is good enough to cosplay? In Toronto, cosplay season for 2009 begins in a couple weeks with MTAC. I affectionately call this con "Ghetto Con" because it's really just a two day con where people go shopping. Anime North is where it's at folks, and hopefully this year I'll be working both the flea market and paneling. We shall see, unless I wuss out. Also, I am totally seeing the Chun Li movie this weekend. I don't care if it's going to suck!
On the gaming front I finally got my copy of Retro Game Challenge. My wonderful EB forgot to call me AGAIN. Sometimes I question why I pre-order from the EB Games near my house. Convenience, I suppose. I finished the first two games and I'm working on Rally King except I fail at doing the drift boost. I'm also almost finished Final Fantasy IV DS, which I like, but totally agree with 7th Circle and Macstorm in regards to the story being very dated. I still love the game, and I still think it's great. Hopefully if I am a good thesis student this week I'll allow myself to play Persona 3: FES. Also, I'm going to pimp a book this week worth reading: Soon I Will Be Invincible, by Austin Grossman. It is hilarious, and if you like superheros, this story might be worth checking out.
On the editorial front, I have a fan submission. Anthony Dyer returns with a piece about his first RPG! I'm actually rather excited someone decided to use one of the "Your Opinion" questions considering they aren't there just to make the column look pretty. Some housekeeping: The "Your Opinion" Questions will change next week, so take one last good look at them!
This wraps up another week of (un)sexy editorials! See you all next week!
