The Fall of the Modern RPG Experience
by Justin Cronin
"I have become lost in this world of Playstation 2s, Xboxes, and high powered graphics cards. The current formula for RPGs has changed from a well supported story and soundtrack to being strictly dependant on the graphical aspects of the games... It seems our beloved days of concrete stories and captivating music has come and gone, we now live in an age of visual flash and awe. Most developers have lost sight of what makes a good console RPG, story and sound."
A Fantasy To End All Fantasies
by Jared Morse
"I have a proposition to make. What if, in some loosely based way, every installment in the Final Fantasy series revolved around the seventh and ninth installments? Let me first apologize for being so vague with this bold statement, as I know it may sound very much like blasphemy, perhaps even a bit taboo if you will? In any case, let me begin to give the reasons for why I believe this to be a subtle reason for why Final Fantasy has yet to be “final.”"

Dear Mother...
by Paws
"I fiercely wanted to play, and he didn't mind sharing, but you would shake your head and declare 'video games were not for girls'. I scoffed you, though of course not to your face, and snuck behind your back to play them."

Editor's Comments
Hello everyone, and welcome to this week's column. Thanks to Justin Cronin and Jared Morse, we have two brand new editorials for your reading pleasure. Justin offers a perspective on the current state of RPGs, while Jared discusses his theory of consistency and connectivity within the Final Fantasy series.
There's also a classic editorial by one of our most prolific staff members, Paws. This one's a reminiscent piece that many people will likely be able to apply to their own lives. Though, from what I hear, Paws' mother has had a change of heart over the past three years since that article was written.
Thanks for reading, and look forward to more thought-provoking articles to come in subsequent updates.
