Today I have the pleasure of introducing Doug Hill, one of our news staff. His opinion may not be one you're familiar with, but take a good read. If developers were to start paying attention to Mr. Hill, I would be very excited to rush out and buy an XBox, and that's something I never thought I'd consider.
I'd like to make clear that I don't really give rejection letters to editorials. I may ask for errors to be corrected, I may ask for expanded arguments or more premises, but don't think you've been turned away. Very few people write perfect first drafts, or perhaps even fifth drafts. I'm here to read your writing and give you suggestions on improving it, and as soon as your work meets my criteria, I will post it. Don't be shy about revisiting your work and fixing or adding what I suggest, it'll make me a very happy editor.

Good readers and writers,
All right, so I didn't quite make my intended deadline for this update. Things came up, and I ended up being out of town Friday and Saturday, and busy most of today. I'm still intending to make Fridays my update day, but that might vary a day or two, depending on the amount of content I have and what's going on. I'm also considering moving to a biweekly schedule to give people more time to write and respond to what has been written, but for now, the section will stay with somewhat weekly updates.
For the next update, I'd like you all to write on music in RPGs. This is just a suggested topic, but it's certainly an interesting topic as music evolves in games and the composers are treated more seriously. With the London and Seattle Symphonies, among other groups, becoming involved in video game soundtracks, the industry is hardly the collection of bleeps and boops it used to be. Let me know what you think about the whole affair.
