I'm playing Super Robot Taisen: Original Generation 2 for the fourth time, trying to shoot Mekibos down in a late mission. The jerk's robot malfunctions and ends the battle at anything less than 30,000 HP, meaning I have to whallop him with one beaut of a hit. In attempting through several different support attacks to earn the kill for Mai, I refresh my memory on precisely what a situation like this demands: quick & easy restart. Which, being a GBA game, SRT does have, but it could still be better.

For instance, these health & safety warnings that popped up prior in the last generation of GBA games are simply irritating. They don't automatically disappear, they require player input to scroll through - and for information that should not have to be seen EVERY TIME THE SYSTEM IS POWERED ON.

Credits prior to the start of a game should also not be seen every time the system is powered on. Yes, credits provide valuable information regarding the developers of what I am playing. No, I do not desire to see that information every time the system powers on - particularly if I am rushing through this stuff to retry a save. Keep the credits at the start and end of the game proper, not in the things that have to be waded through every time the game turns on.

Keep the things a player sees upon turning a game on simple: the console start-up message, then the start menu. All the rest can be viewed via the manual, via the game's beginning and end, via the internet, or not at all for those who just want to play without knowing anything about the people behind the game. Using this methodology, players restarting repeatedly for whatever reason, or players who want to play promptly without wading through mandatory logos, will be much happier.
