*Fade to battle*
Your party is facing off against a squad of evil, killer rabbits. The rabbits are most vicious and you barely make it out of battle alive. Your group is in peril as your fighter lost quite a few HP, your healer used all of her MP just keeping your fighter alive and your mage is poisoned. What ever will you do?
You don't do anything since you've used all of your recovery items. You can only carry so many. Three of your party members are even carrying around a big chest of items, armor and weapons, but it has no healing items left. Your old armor takes up so much room that you can’t store that many items. I guess it’s time to get a new chest and recruit someone new to help take turns lugging it around.
Now as you head back to town to get some more items, you pray that you don't run into any other vile monsters along the way. Luckily you make it to town without incident. Yet because your prior battles took so long and your party is too weak to walk fast, it's night. You walk over to the item store with hope in your heart. CLOSED!
The shops may be closed, but the inn should be open. You go to pay for your multiple rooms, since for some reason the innkeeper won’t let you rent just one room for your six person party. He says that you won’t all fit in his one bed rooms. How odd, that’s never been a problem before. Helpless, you fork over the money and go on up to sleep.
On your way out of the inn in the morning, you are shocked to see that merely sleeping through the night didn’t heal any of your cuts or bruises. That’s odd, just sleeping a night in an inn usually cures all ailments. Oh and your mage that had been poisoned died during the night. Sucks to be him.
After restocking on items, you decide to visit some of the locals to see what they have laying around. You try to go in the first door you see. It’s locked. That’s odd, why would someone lock their door? How are you ever going to get the items they have stored in their chests? You knock and the nice lady of the house lets you in. You ignore her since you just want her items anyways and go straight to open the chest by the bed. As you are pillaging this poor woman’s life savings, the oddest thing happens. She screams at you to stop stealing her possessions. You try to explain to her that you’re trying to save the world and that it is her duty to let you take whatever you want. As you turn to leave, thinking the conversation ended, she stabs you in the back repeatedly. As you lay there dying, you can only think how painful this brutal reality is. Never again would you wish for a truly realistic RPG...because you’re dead.
