Unfortunately, the games these days are too graphically enhanced.

I won’t bother to quible about the changes in graphic and sound over years, that is inevitable as the tides. What I will say, is that we are sacrificing far too much these days to have the best graphic and the best sound.

Sure. When you look at a brand new Playstation 2 game, all you can do is say “WOW” because of how impressive it is. But is it really worth it? Is it worth the extra 5 minutes of your time to sit there and watch something that use to take a little less the 30 seconds?

Most of the time, HELL NO! What you’re gaining in better design and sound, you are lose in actual game time. Sure, I like to watch those little in between scene as much as the next person, at least the first time, but when your forced to watch them over and over and over again (sometimes 3 to 5 scenes in a city before returning to the game) it really weakens what enjoyment you originally had for the game.

FFT, my all time favorite game has this problem (and the scene aren‘t even movie like, just normal graphics) and it was merely a Playstation 1 game… In the world of Playstation 2, it’s a 100 times worse and almost unbearable. I now spend my time watching TV, just to avoid the same super awesome excellent scene I’ve witness ten thousand time already. At the very least, all games should come with the option of skipping scene to avoid this horrendously annoying set of perfect graphics. (Bof4 )

But what’s even worse, is that the game designers these days could easily fix this problem simply by reducing the graphics and music in there games. I don’t want or need to see the Hero in digital form sailing around the screen all the time for every new castle or land they enter.

Or worse, too much complicated music during battles, which not only slows down game play, but also, at the same time, is still redundant. I can’t count the number of times when I muted the sound, and turned on Disturbed or some other group just to avoid the same thing over and over again.

Simple is best. Why the heck gamers want to add movie like graphics and sounds to games of the past, I’ll never understand. If you want junk food that badly, there’s probably a Wal-Mart or a McDonalds with-in two blocks from where ever your at.
