My opinion on Kendra-K's editorial

by Grey

After reading these articles I just felt that this must be said. I am not trying to defend anyone nor I am trying to bash on Sega, Nintendo or Sony. I am just voicing my own opinion on Kendra k's editorial and my opinion on the rebuttals it received.

As it is simple to see to the one who doesn't just look for the system bashing aspect, Kendra K was only trying to point out what each systems strong points are. When she said Sony doesn't make any good games she was right. Sony doesn't make the games, Working Designs, Square, Enix and all those companies do. Sony just makes the Playstation and approves the games that are made for them, they don't actually take a part in the development process. While I feel this point is unfair and may seem confusing I think this is what was meant to be said. Also Sony does not do a good job with marketing the playstation, they could do a much better job of it. And out of the three companies, Sony has the best existing system.

Now Sega makes games for it's own system, they have since the Master System was released, and they do a pretty fine job of it. I wouldn't say they are fabulous games but they are well made, so Sega technically does make good games. And pretty much everything else Sega does is terrible and very poorly done, but it is still not fair to attack them and say that they do a horrible job of it. They are still making games aren't they? So what they're doing can't be that bad.

And Nintendo. Nintendo has had, by far, the largest lifelong fan base. They do a spectacular job with marketing, they are literally everywhere, they're systems have never been bad, and they have made okay games. But now things are just starting to wear out. While it might seem wrong to say that there is nothing wrong with them, you must look at this as it was a few years back, when Nintendo was the only system. In a few years Kendra's argument concerning Nintendo will most likely have less ground to be based on. If Nintendo keeps doing the way they are I belive that it will finally know what it's like to be in a bad position. But Kendra's thoughts on this should not have been considered just yet. Though in my humble opinion, her opinion is very correct for now.

In closing I would like to thank you for reading my editorial and considering my opinion.
