Problems with Konami War-Simulation Elements in RPGs

by Jon Gibson

I think I stand for all of you RPG fans out there who look for new games out there are dying to know, if Konami makes RPG's, WHY of all things do they keep making War-sims... that, pardon me for saying so, look so graphically BAD? And why, if they want an RPG, can't they stay to the TRUE RPG-style that Square and everyone else uses? I mean, it's one thing to have a war-sim that looks good, but it's also quite another thing to have a GENUINE RPG if all you do is mix elements.

Now, like I said, SOME of these games they have done HAVE surpassed the others dramatically. Take Suikoden and place it with Azure Dreams. BOTH have sound plots, good story and other elements. Azure Dreams packs in, and I know graphics don't mean good gameplay, but Azure Dreams offers AWESOME graphics.

Now... we've all seen Konami's shooters and each one of them surpass one another, so why can't they simply use the graphics engines of some of those AWESOME games and place them into something like, let's say, Vandal Hearts. Now, if you placed Gradius III's GRAPHIC system into it, you'd have a visual tour-de-force as well as a kick ass RPG/War-Sim!

I think what I'm saying is this and this simply, Konami, if you want to do War-Sim RPG, that's fine, but at LEAST update the scratchy garbled graphics into something beautiful, WITHOUT killing gameplay!
