Stop the Complaints

by Anthony G. Willis

I've visited this site millions of times, reading reviews, previews, and sometimes looking at strategies. I wandered around to see what other treasures I haven't uncovered, and just recently uncovered the "Interaction" section and decided I should read what these people are saying.

First of I just want to say, shame to all you RPGamers (no not you editors, the players out there) who say "This RPG is too short", "This RPG lacked graphic detail compared to the pre-rendered backgrounds of FF7", "The characters made me lose interest in the story line fast", etc.. Well, you aren't a true RPGamer. I actually play through the horrible RPG that everybody thought.

All I hear now are just complaints. Complaints about the bad game play, complaints about the bad music or control. But somehow I never hear anybody say something good about a game nowadays. They always compare. If you read any review out there for Tactics Ogre, then you'll hear things like "The graphics aren't good as Final Fantasy Tactics", "Battle fields aren't good as Final Fantasy Tactics", or other games being compared to a greater game of the same genre.

When you all saw the first commercials, ads, and propaganda for FF7, what did all you do? Went out to pre-purchase or even import the damn game! But what did you people do after a new RPG similar to FF7 come out? Yes you called it a "FF7 wanna-be". You didn't care about the game play or the story. You cared if the graphics were up to par with FF7. If they did you went out looking for the review seeing if it was better or maybe even greater than FF7! Then you again hear the comparisons of the two games, both different in means in the type of graphics, storyline, and so on.

But when a sequel comes out only available in Japan greater than the first game you all cry "Now why didn't that great game come over here in the states?" Well the answer is that you don't pay attention to these RPGs. Already people out there are are having doubts of Dragon Quest 7 coming to the US. Who cares about the ads, the propaganda, the free crap you're going to get with it (i.e. Parasite Eve). Just play the game, enjoy the game and keep those opinions to yourself.
