Not a fanboy, I promise

After two years here at RPGamer, I've decided that this section needs a major refresher. Here are some random facts about me. I'm a full-time employee of the University of Tennessee. I graduated from East Tennessee State University, twice. I enjoy writing both editorials and reviews. RPGs are my passion. I've been gaming since I was five and have been playing RPGs since the days of the NES. I'm happily married to a wife that enjoys gaming, but is not as obsessed as I am.

I started here at RPGamer as an editorialist. I've since dubbed myself the staff Red Mage due to the fact that I like to dabble in a little bit of everything, but don't really excel at any of it. I am currently the curator of the editorials section and a public relations coordinator among other things. I enjoy my time here immensely. I'm not going to sugar coat things and say that's it's all cake and pie around here, but the pluses outweigh the minuses. To anyone reading this that is thinking about signing up, if you are willing to work hard and have the free time to spend, it's worth it.

When it comes to gaming, I'm really picky. Heck, I'm picky in almost every aspect of my life, but it really shows in gaming. I seem to be tougher on RPGs that your average reviewer. That's not to say that I don't enjoy them, but I have a tendency to pick things apart. I am a collector though and that's not good when it comes to RPGs. If I complete a game, I have to keep it forever. I can't get rid of anything and if I've beaten a game I've borrowed or rented, I have to go out and buy it. It's crazy, but that's me.

I have a small collection of RPGs including a few rarer titles such as Panzer Dragoon Saga and Shining Force III (including the two Japanese released scenarios). Chances are that if a game has Final Fantasy in the title, I own it. I do enjoy a handful of games outside of the RPG genre. I'm a sucker for the Metal Gear Solid series. I love 2D Metroid games, rhythm/music games, Katamari titles, and others I'm sure. However, stick me in a room with only Final Fantasy IV and I'll be happy. Feel free to contact me on IRC (Macstorm) or via email if you would like to chat, but don't be upset if I don't reply right away. I'm hit and miss.
