I never know what to say in these things, so I guess I'll just begin by introducing myself. My name is Jordan Jackson, and I used to live in Japan. I lived in a small city called Niihama that was on the northern shore of Shikoku, the smallest of the four main islands of Japan. I lived there for just under 20 months, and it was one of the greatest experiences of my life.
After working a short while at Best Buy, I began using my chemistry degree. These days, I'm a real chemist, but it's not very exciting. To be honest, it's downright boring. But it does pay the bills, so I don't complain very much.
In my spare time, I actually play games. A lot. It used to be that I'd buy games and then never finish them, but I'm actively trying to fix that. I'm a proud owner of all the current hardware, and I play them all quite regularly. If this keeps up, I might even polish off my considerable backlog.
Anyone that knows me can attest to the fact that I am a huge Gundam fanboy. I have five perfect grade models, four of which are built. I'm saving the last one for some rainy day when I need a pick me up. Building model kits has been a hobby of mine for around five years now. It's not a cheap hobby by any means, but it's brought hours of fun.
Like many staffers that have been here a long time, I've bounced around a bit. I wrote the Japandemonium column for about two years, was the senior editor for the new updates section for a bit, had a short stint as a reviewer, and now I'm doing PR. Of all the jobs I've had here, PR is probably the most fun. I still miss writing my column, but it's pretty sweet to get to call the companies that make the games I play and love. And it's certainly allowed me to meet some cool people, including Hironobu Sakaguchi and Shigeru Miyamoto.
If you're ever bored, drop me a line. I answer all mail sent my way.
