Hi

Hello, my name is Bret and this is my profile page. I joined RPGamer earlier this year to ressurect the Japandemonium column and translate Japanese gaming news. I also produce an editorial from time to time.
I have a great passion for languages, but most of all Japanese. I studied it extensively in college, making Japanese Stuides my major. I travelled twice to Japan, once as a student and again as a teacher. It was a great experience and I encourage anyone to take full advantage of a study abroad program no matter where they wish to travel (except my apartment, it's messy.) After returning to America, I utilized my new found powers to translate comics for TOKYOPOP and other various freelance projects. I'm also immune to wax paper and can see through glass, Scotch tape and Scientology.
Here is some more superfluous information about me: I perform stand-up comedy in Northern NJ or NYC where I'm described as "That buzzing in my ear while we're dividing up the check." I love to eat ramen and sushi, my favorite fish being salmon. Despite my penchant for Japanese, I barely watch any anime anymore, but I enjoy detective shows like Poroit and Q. I played Final Fantasy XI as Elmerthepointy on the Gilgamesh server and made a series of videos you can find on YouTube. I tried Coca Cola Black and liked it, I tried Coca Cola Zero and hated it. I use a Sony VAIO laptop for my online work. Lastly, I enjoy reading and responding to e-mail so don't hesitate convert the joy you feel when reading my columns on RPGamer into 12pt Courier and sending it to me.
