Elusive as the faerie dragon, this RPGamer staffer's identity is a closely guarded secret! Ooh! Mysterious!

I'm your fairly normal RPG-obsessed geek in most regards. My true love began with Shining Force and Phantasy Star II on the Sega Genesis, the first RPGs I played. Prior to this time, gaming had always been a minor pasttime for me, just an idle hobby where you run around and shoot things. Fun, but not an addiction. But in playing these two works, I recognized that gaming could be so much more than that -- it could be a great form of storytelling, a way to let the imagination traverse new worlds, just like reading. After playing those, I moved on to all the great SNES RPGs. Once I got a job, a disposable income (and oh, did I ever dispose of it), and the capability of funding my gaming obsessions on my own, it was all downhill from there.

I live by myself in Delaware, where I work as a systems operator for a corporate bank. It's not that fun, but it pays the bills and keeps the games coming in. It also gives me plenty of time to read, which is another major consumer of my time. Aside from that, I enjoy anime, politics, studying mythology and military history, and being, in general, a very odd person.

I was hired by RPGamer in September of 2005 to cover news, and that probably involves better and more interesting things than writing about myself.
