Now that you're trapped, I guess it's as good a time as any to assail you with the details of my life. I am a sometime student who spreads his time between this site and (currently) looking for another job. If you're an HR person who is checking up on me, hi. I'm great!

I've been with the site almost seven years, as the hire date suggests, and during that time I've done all sorts of stuff. In addition to extensive internal machinations, I have, at fits and starts, been responsible for writing news, running the news department, handling Q&A, and my current role, performing administrative functions relating to hiring. And firing. That means I write all the fancy site policies and am in charge of ensuring the department heads maintain said policies. I also meddle in various other things that don't really concern me, but, such are the benefits of seniority, eh?

I am Canadian and proud of it, and will assert to my dying day that it is spelled 'colour' and not 'color,' no matter how many of you crazy Philistines suggest otherwise. In sum, you might not see much evidence of my work here, but without me they'd... probably hire someone else. How sad.
