   The Day Belongs to Zelda

Googleshng - May 12 '04- 4:00 Eastern Standard Time

Well, I suppose really I should say it belongs to Link. He really did get the short end of the stick in the game title department. His series is named after someone he has to rescue most of the time, and isn't even in every game. Raw deal. Samus has a similar problem really.

I don't know what it is about that pseduo-voice synthesis a few SNES games used, but I still find it amusing to this day.

Hi I was wondering what you thought of front mission 4 to date. The preview did'nt really influence one way or the other and I'm hoping you can steer me in the right direction. Just for reference I've played(and enjoyed) vanguard bandits, FFT, and hoshigami(bit harsh). Thanks alot either way.

I haven't really seen enough about FM4 to judge it. From where I sit, it's FM3 with better graphics (and hopefully less slow-down). Of course, I liked FM3 plenty, so FM4 here should be good... just so long as they actually throw a little variety into the gameplay. I don't like going through the same exact mission 60 times in a row.

This question, phrased differently, was asked by a loooooooooooooot of people.

Google,

Long time reader, first time writer... I've taken a look at the new screen shots from the game cube Zelda game and I'm very impressed. They look gorgeous and seem to hint at a more oldschool kind of game... this is surprising to me because Nintendo had informed us that the next game in the series would have the same graphic engine as The Wind Waker. It doesn't matter to me either way, since I like both kinds of graphics, but it makes me wonder has Nintendo been tricking us? Was this just a ploy to surprise the gaming world at E3? Or is it possible that Nintendo is working on two Zelda games at once? It's hard to tell since we hadn't seen any screen shots of this new mystery game until now. What are your thoughts?

-Naia

Googleshng:
Yes. It's quite a surprise when you're expecting more of this and you find yourself looking at this. Of course, the opposite happened when Wind Waker was announced. Seems sort of like the Zelda hype machine is off by a game in one direction or the other. I'd assume at some point we'll be hearing what exactly happened with WW2, but in the meantime, I have no problem drooling over this here.

The Last Laugh:

And E3 marches on. Let's see what new announcements there are today, and then ask questions about them. You know the drill.

Hyenas and boars are all well and good, but I can't make Duran Duran jokes.
