"Did you ever have the chicken pox?"
"No, but technically, neither did you."
"See, that's exactly my point! We don't know what the symptoms of chicken pox really were. Maybe they got it wrong. Maybe what we think the symptoms are are really the symptoms of something else, like... measles. It gets you thinking about a lot of things. Like the flu. Maybe they couldn't figure out what the symptoms of the flu were, which is why it feels like everything."

Well, I suppose the first step is admitting you have a problem...

The Final Fantasy Unlimited anime, besides having a translation rivaling Zero Wing, is also the most awful production I have ever watched in my life. This includes TV shows such as Saved By The Bell: The College Years and Sailor Moon as well as movies ranging from Kung Pow: Enter The Fist to Super Mario Bros.: The Movie . I'm watching the Japanese version with English subtitles because it was only $6.50 on eBay. I conclude that the dubbed version is better, simply because there's no possible way for people to actually say the things written in the subbed one. Yet despite the fact that it makes absolutely no sense in every possible meaning of the phrase "makes no sense," and is also really really bad even if you ignore the sense/nonsense issue, and randomly switches between decent animation and horrible cgi that tries to look kind of like drawings (or else drawings that try to look like horrible cgi, I honestly can't tell), I can't put it down. I have a sick fascination with it. I apparently have been so brainwashed by Square that the mere presence of a chocobo owned by a lady named "Grandma Chocolate" is enough to make such a movie seem like canon. Cry for me. I own a Japanese copy of FF2 for the Famicom, despite the facts that I don't speak Japanese, and I don't own a Famicom, and playing it is like sticking your manhood in a coffee grinder. This is how wretched I am.

On a side note, FF10-2 and Mario Kart are coming out at the same time. Which one will you get, or neither, or both? I would buy a paper sack full of horse turds if it had either of those titles on it.

Googleshng:
Well, there are a few things to consider in this instance. First, there's the fact that I know next to nothing about yon new Mario Kart. Then there's not having anyone to play it with. And then there's this. Most importantly though is that I'm pretty much required to play every game with Final Fantasy slapped on it to do this job. So if money falls from the sky, yeah, it'll have to go to 10-2.

Multipartition

Hey Googleshng,

1) At long last I finally managed to get myself a copy of Skies of Arcadia along with a Cube to play it. At the same time, I also managed to snag myself a copy of .hack//Infection and Suikoden III. The problem is these are all borrowed (including the Cube) and I've got to play them all in the next few weeks and still manage to ace finals, right? While I don't see any problem going through Skies or .hack, I've also got Suikoden I and Suikoden II at my disposal and was just wondering if it's really all that worthwhile to play them first? I've heard Suikoden II is pretty rare...

Googleshng:
That question looks fairly rhetorical, but wow, that sure is a lot of stuff to be borrowing from someone at once there. I doubt the Suikoden series is worth skipping out on finals though.

2) I'm bored of Final Fantasys!

Googleshng:
So pick a new series to glom on to? How about the Ultimas, there's a lot of them too.

3) I'll be getting a GBA in the near future. I want to play the Golden Suns, and possibly FFTA. Any other games on that system I should look out for?

Googleshng:
Heck yes. Off the top of my head there's the MMBN series, there's Fire Emblem, there's the SotN style Castlevanias, a whole slew of non-RPGs of note...

4) Are you planning on getting Zim on DVD?

Thanks for your time.

Googleshng:
That's one of those things I'd do if I had a lot of money, but not one of those things I'm likely to do otherwise.
